Spring Tensioned Ball Joints SAE J490 Type A and AL

SBJ-series spring tensioned ball joints feature a spring-loaded ball stud per SAE J490 Type A. SBJX-series ball joints feature a spring-loaded long ball stud per SAE J490 Type AL. This special feature reduces backlash on the ball stud.

Carbon steel staked design ball joint 

  • Ball socket: low carbon steel, case hardened for extended wear life on request.
  • Ball stud: low carbon steel, case hardened for extended wear life on request. 
  • Spring: stainless steel
  • Finishes: zinc plated yellow dichromate treated or zinc plated white and blue passivate (silver/clear) for corrosion resistance.
  • Lubrication: bearing cavity filled with high wear lubricant. 

Stainless steel staked design ball joint 

  • Body and stud: stainless steel 303/304/316.

Temperature Range

  • -30°C ~ +120°C(-22°F ~ +248°F)
